I Saw Eternity

In Tenebrae’s unique blend, the uniqueness of each voice resounds through the perfect harmony. Add infinite precision, a dazzling ear for detail and uncompromising dedication, and it is immediately clear why the award-winning chamber choir under Nigel Short is a recipe you simply must taste. Another eminent Brit, Sir James MacMillan, composed his Miserere on commission from AMUZ. It was a highlight of Laus Polyphoniae 2009. MacMillan shares this searingly beautiful two-part programme with Johann Sebastian Bach. The latter’s iconic motets full of contrasts in texture, virtuoso declamation, brilliant rhetoric and heartfelt affects took the genre to its final apotheosis at the climax of the Baroque.
