In the baroque period preludes were improvised compositions that allowed the musician to tune and warm up on stage before performing a piece. The freedom of tempo allows better opportunities for fantasy and imagination, for mood change, for passion and emotion. BREZZA presents a programme in which preludes, which give room to the freedom of improvisation, take you on an exciting musical journey. The ensemble was founded at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and focuses on 17th and 18th century chamber music. BREZZA already won several prizes at festivals in Navarra, Barcelona, and Bavaria. During the 2022-2023 season the ensemble will be in residence at Rheinburg Castle in Brandenburg.
