Travelling is something we all do. To faraway places, a new home, a different school – or simply every morning when we set out into the day. Sometimes we can’t wait to get going, and sometimes we have butterflies in our tummy. Battoe is all about that familiar feeling: travelling through a world that is always changing. In this musical production for children, without words but full of fantasy, the artists from De Spiegel step aboard a wooden raft full of hidden sounds. They sail across a sea of emotions, past happiness, doubt, homesickness and fun, further and further from home but closer and closer to themselves. Battoe invites young children to come along on a voyage of the imagination. What does it mean to go away? And what is coming home? In this warm, playful and poetic production, everyone gets the space they need to search for their own answers.
