La Messe de Nostre Dame is the oldest musical setting of an entire mass whose composer – Guillaume de Machaut – is known to us. Every music history book will tell you that. Graindelavoix is reconsidering these words with the ensemble’s particular blend of wonder and joy of discovery. They will be joined by the pianist Jan Michiels, who will bring de Machaut’s music into dialogue with works by György Kurtág, Johann Sebastian Bach and György Ligeti. The distribution of the singers and several pianos throughout the space guarantees a captivating experience.
