It’s a pleasure to give upcoming talent with original ideas and a promising artistic background a helping hand. And that’s exactly what Young Artist’s Presentation (IYAP) is for: to boost young ensembles, helping them grow into the stars of tomorrow. With intensive coaching from internationally renowned early music specialists, the selected ensembles draw a variety of fresh, new insights and tons of energy from their stay in Antwerp. But first comes this concert day, with short showcases where the dawning stars of tomorrow demonstrate the best of what they can do. Cheer for your favourites after a brilliant performance and discover the festival bills of the future before anyone else.
KIMA
Founded in 2023 by Ivana Ivanovic, KIMA is a vocal ensemble that brings early music to life through a boldly theatrical and sensory stage language. Drawing on repertoire from the 14th to 16th century, the Basel-based musicians, all formed at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, craft performances that are as intimate and expressive as they are scenic and immersive, weaving movement and narrative into every concert so that audiences become participants in a living story. Since winning an internal competition at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and performing at the fringe of the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht in 2024, KIMA has continued to build its reputation across Europe with appearances at Festival Linee in San Marino, ReRenaissance Basel, Kloster Schönthal, and concert venues in Basel and Mulhouse.
