IYAP – Ensemble Pampinea

Fortuna, will you spare us?

It’s a pleasure to give upcoming talent with original ideas and a promising artistic background a helping hand. And that’s exactly what Young Artist’s Presentation (IYAP) is for: to boost young ensembles, helping them grow into the stars of tomorrow. With intensive coaching from internationally renowned early music specialists, the selected ensembles draw a variety of fresh, new insights and tons of energy from their stay in Antwerp. But first comes this concert day, with short showcases where the dawning stars of tomorrow demonstrate the best of what they can do. Cheer for your favourites after a brilliant performance and discover the festival bills of the future before anyone else.

Ensemble Pampinea

Ensemble Pampinea is a passionate and vibrant early music ensemble based in Basel, bringing medieval and Renaissance repertoire to life through a compelling blend of historical depth and contemporary flair. It is weaving together programs that span Boccaccio’s Decameron with 14th-century Florentine music, Ars Nova and Ars Subtilior, and Burgundian soundscapes inspired by Jan van Eyck. All three musicians trained at the renowned Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, and the ensemble has earned growing international recognition through a First Prize at the London Early Music Young Ensemble Competition (2022), performances at the London International Festival of Early Music (2023), a finalist spot at Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, and tours across Europe and Canada.
