The English composer and musicologist Charles Burney travelled in Europe in 1770 and 1772 to record the contemporary music scene. His writings offer a fascinating glimpse of the musical culture of the day. The English ensemble Apollo’s Cabinet follow in Burney’s footsteps with this concert programme. Their journey is a kaleidoscope of European musical cultures, starting in France and taking us onwards to Germany, Austria and Italy.
