The Belgian wind ensemble WOLF will surprise you with Mozart and Beethoven’s multifaceted quintets for fortepiano and wind, in a pleasant collaboration with Anthony Romaniuk who gives the fortepiano a graceful place in the spotlight. “I personally believe this is the best thing I have written yet”, wrote Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart about his Quintet in E flat major, K 452. It made such an impression on his contemporaries that the young Ludwig van Beethoven used it as a model for his own Quintet in E flat major, opus 16. “Lilting melancholy and frolicking fun”, De Standaard wrote about the recording. “Historical happiness on a disc”, was Cultuurpakt’s headline. Our expectations are high!
