Liuwe Tamminga
Liuwe Tamminga is internationally appreciated as one of the greatest specialists in the field of Italian organ music from the 16th and 17th century. This recital is devoted to organ music from the Po Valley. The programme features works by Ingegneri, de Wert, Luzzaschi, Brumel, Bargnani and Cavazzoni.
The Frisian titular organist of San Petronio in Bologna offers this recital on the beautifully restored Bremser organ of the Elzenveld chapel, an early baroque instrument that is ideally suited for works from that period. In his days Monteverdi was himself steeped in these organ sounds as well.
