Every note that Severin von Eckardstein conjures from the keyboard is the beginning of an epic listening journey. In this concert, the piano poet wanders through intense pieces by Leoš Janácek and meditative music by Josef Suk on a historic Bechstein concert grand. From Janácek’s On an Overgrown Path to Suk’s atmospheric Summer Impressions, compositions merge into one long dream sequence on eternal themes such as love, transience, premonition, oblivion and longing. Images of the Czech countryside, collected by Lise Bruyneel and projected into a forest of canvas, open the door to another reality, somewhere between delusion, desire and memory.
