Music lovers through the centuries have always loved to hear heart-warming Christmas melodies from the past during the Christmas period. Be astonished by the fieriness of famous and unfamiliar Christmas songs in their original 15th century form and by the elegance of their finely wrought predecessors in this festive play of narrative and symbolic poetry recounting the Bible stories of Mary and Jesus. Gothic Voices combines the festive ritual with important vocal works by the famous early English composers John Dunstaple and Leonel Power. “Sustenance for the soul, a short-cut to bliss”, is what The Times wrote about the ensemble. We can’t imagine any better start to a lovely Christmas period!
