The ensemble UnderStories emerged from the desire of cellists Clara Pouvreau and Bartolomeo Dandolo Marchesi to explore 18th century repertoire for the cello as an emerging solo instrument. They met at the Hochschule für Musik in Frankfurt and surrounded themselves with musicians studying at other prestigious conservatories such as the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and Schola Cantorum in Basel. UnderStories has performed at the Oude Muziek Festival Utrecht, MA Festival and the Festival d’Ambronay. In 2019, they won the audience prize in the Val de Loire early music competition in France.
International Young Artists’ Presentation
The International Young Artists’ Presentation (IYAP) gives young vocal and instrumental artists and ensembles a foothold in the international music scene. The selected artists and ensembles are intensively coached and mentored by Peter Van Heyghen and Raquel Andueza. Discover them this summer in a concert at AMUZ.
