The Missa prolationum by Johannes Ockeghem (c. 1410-1497) is one of the most demanding and fascinating works in music history, comparable to Bach’s Art of the Fugue. As this ‘Slow Listening Concert’ unfolds, the complex web of voices is unravelled and rewoven before you. Four singers who are experts in the vocal language of counterpoint sing their parts separately and then together. In alternation with the music, radio and television presenter Herman De Winné reads old and new texts about the philosophy of life.
