A consort's monument

The talented young instrumentalists of L’Achéron, led by François Joubert-Caillet, take Thomas Mace’s Musick’s Monument (1676) and add fantasies, airs and dances by Ferrabosco, Ward, White, Dering, Jenkins, Simpson, Coprario, Monteverdi and others, all played with verve. Thanks to intense collaboration with the best instrument makers, this French consort of viols has a complete set of English consort instruments. A combination of delicate emotions and masterly counterpoint provides the perfect closing concert for this festival.
