Contrapunctus & Choir of The Queen’s College Oxford

John Taverner (ca. 1490-1545)

Contrapunctus and the Choir of The Queen’s College Oxford join forces to present Taverner’s Missa Gloria tibi Trinitas, one of the most important masses in late mediaeval English church music. Owen Rees focuses on the kaleidoscopic variety of vocal combinations. Classical Source gives this performance five stars: “Particularly impressive is the integration of a warmly blended Queen’s College tone with the brightly focused voices of Contrapunctus.” And to top it all, this majestic evocation of the Royal Chapel with no fewer than forty singers has been awarded a Dispason d’Or!
