The concert will not be able to take place, as the musicians are unable to travel to Belgium due to COVID measures.
The British sopranos Angela Hicks and Penelope Appleyard came together in a shared love of early music, but also a love of jazz and folk and a desire to take a new, creative approach to historical repertoire. This led to their ensemble Fair Oriana, founded in 2018, with which they have developed programmes such as Trials & Triumphs of Oriana and Silver Baroque. In January 2020, they made their debut at the Konzerthaus Wien with Thou Shalt Not Steal, a folk-inspired programme about the character of Robin Hood. They recently recorded Thomas Morley’s Canzonets for Two Voices.
International Young Artists’ Presentation
The International Young Artists’ Presentation (IYAP) gives young vocal and instrumental artists and ensembles a foothold in the international music scene. The selected artists and ensembles are intensively coached and mentored by Peter Van Heyghen and Raquel Andueza. Discover them this summer in a concert at AMUZ.
